Default Audio Bose Sub and Amp Ques

Hello All,

I bought a stock Bose sub and amp off of a my350z forum member and when I installed it, it didn't work. He says it worked up to the day he removed it and id like to take his word for it.

Now I have an aftermarket head unit and my sub hasn't worked in years so I want to make sure Im getting the voltage I need to the amp. I went at the plug with a multimeter and it had power on some wires. I am not sure what each wire should have as far as power. Does anyone know what the power going to the amp on each wire should be and how to test the amp or sub to know for sure if its good or not?

Thanks for any help.

Ok so using the schematic below this is the VDC I found, if any.

Pin 1 Orange 7.27vdc
Pin 2 White 7.27vdc
Pin 3 Yellow
Pin 4 Light Blue
Pin 5 Blank
Pin 6 Green 14.10vdc
Pin 7 Black
Pin 8 Red

I am assuming everything is hooked up correctly behind my head unit and Im getting what I need from the car. Is this correct and does this mean the amp is bad? Why couldn't Bose put an LED in there to show its on like all other electronics ?!

yeah thats what i was thinking . the amp .. thats why i suggested testing the amp out with a different speaker .. that you know does work ..

do you know if theres a seperate fuse for the amp under the steering column ?
or perhaps in the engine bay by the battery ?

Checked all fuses and I have power going to the plug that connects into the amp. So I'm assuming that's not it. Someone else told me I might need an adapter because I have an aftermarket head unit. I'm not sure about that and its like 50 bucks, not worth it to me. I should have just did a custom system and taken out the Bose like I wanted. I just need to verify that the sub and amp I bought from the my350z forum is in working condition so I know if I need to resell or refund.

Let me know if you need some inexpensive but working amps as I have 2.
1 amp for Sub and 1 amp for surround speakers. Very inexpensive. Like $50 bux each. Let me know.

Not even going to bother any more with it. Id like to try and test the amp and sub I have to see if it works since the seller claims it did when he took it out of his car. Thanks for the offer though.

best bet would be for someone with a Z to let you unplug theirs and plug yours in . ???

to test it . i guess.. that would suck if they sent you a blown one ..
